Child Neuroscience Center helps 6 children

Philippine Children's Medical CenterSince March 2012 six young patients were helped in the Child Neuroscience Center (CNC) with support from Con Amor. Justin, Rhle, Indera, Mark, Rayle and another Mark vary in age from 1 to 13. The money was spent on operations, research and medication for the treatment of meningitis, dystrophy, epilepsy, encephalitis and tumors. The CNC writes that the quality of life of these children and their families have improved severely. That’s our goal! More about the CNC.

Damage control and salaries.

Sibol 2012Sibol, the Philippine pre-school project supported by Con Amor, did not escape the tidal wave either. A lot of learning materials were destroyed. They currently mailed us that the last Con Amor donation was used to replace destroyed material, but also to pay teachers’ salaries. Furthermore we were happy to hear that the education level of their pupils is increasing significantly. Almost all children can now read and write simple words. This means that every year more children are admitted to higher grades.

Elderly in good hands

Adrie & SvettaThis month our board member Adri Uijl travelled to the Ukraine to visit the Pediatric Foundation Beregowo (SOB). With the support of a.o. Con Amor SOB supplies 24 hours per day care to elderly in Beregowo. SOB started in 2008 by rebuilding a shed into 2 marvellous sheltered houses. These houses suit the needs of the seniors very well. The management of this Dutch initiative is now in the good Ukranian hands of Svetta (see picture: Adri & Svetta).
